Kino (キノ)

Our young protagonist. A traveler by circumstance, Kino journeys to different lands in the series and stays for no more than 3 days, descovering various traditions, cultures, and historys as a result. They do not interfere with countries laws or quarrels, and prefer to leave any issue they come accross as-is (with exception). They carry 3 persuaders: Canon (1851 Navy Revolver), Woodsman(Colt), and Flute (M-14 Rifle) as well as a knife, and seem extremely proficient in using them for survival.

  • Anime The voice actress for Kino in the 2017 series, Aoi Yuki, made her anime debut as Sakura in the 2003 series[2]
    • In fact, Yuki was the force behind pushing for more Kino[2], and even voiced them in a Video Drama on NicoNicoDouga[1]
  • TVTROPES: Celebrity Voice Actor: In Japanese [2003 Series], Kino is voiced by movie actress Ai Maeda (who played Shiori Kitano in Battle Royale and voiced young O-Ren Ishii in her animated flashback. Not to be confused with the other Ai Maeda, who is a professional voice actress who voiced Shion Uzuki and Mimi Tachikawa.
    • The Other Darrin: For obvious reasons, Aya Hisakawa replaces Maeda as Kino in Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax, and eventually by Aoi Yūki in the 2017 anime.
      • The 2017 anime's dub also has a change of cast due to Funimation having the rights as opposed to Sentai Filmworks. Lindsay Seidel replaces Kelli Cousins as Kino, and Derick Snow replaces Cynthia Martinez as Hermes.
